Meet Our Professional Advisor
A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Karen Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts with a concentration in public relations and minor in Business Administration. During her career, Karen has worked for companies like Glimcher Realty Trust, Fahlgren Mortine and Manning Selvage & Lee/Atlanta. She has served in various roles in these organizations developing skills in management, media relations and strategic planning. Now, she serves in the role of founder and entrepreneur as she runs her own brand purpose consulting firm, Purpose Greater Than Profit.
As a small business owner, Karen emphasizes the power of storytelling to help businesses establish a clear purpose that will resonate with their key audiences, streamline their marketing efforts and build leadership in the marketplace. As a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Karen served as president of the Central Ohio Chapter of PRSA’s Board of Directors. She is excited to work with public relations students and to provide insight into the short and long-term value of PRSSA. This will be her first year advising the Walter W. Seifert PRSSA Chapter at Ohio State University and is looking forward to mentoring and helping students.
In addition to her professional work, Karen will be helping students and young professionals with their career development. She will provide hands-on assistance with resumes, cover letters, interviewing techniques and job-searching skills. Karen will also be launching a short video series with tips and tricks for young professionals.
