# PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
Hi everyone!
Welcome to the 2026-27 academic year with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)! Here at Ohio State, we are fortunate to have one of the oldest and largest PRSSA chapters of over 300 across the United States and Latin America. Whether you’re here to meet students with similar career interests, to learn more about the communications industry, or to find a job or internship, we have the resource for you. Our chapter offerings include:
- Weekly meetings with presentations from industry professionals
- A mentorship program connecting students with professional mentors
- Cohort and coffee chat programs to help members build relationships with peers
- A job and internship database with PRSSA-tailored communications positions
- Opportunities to gain leadership experience through subcommittees, executive board roles, and working for our affiliated student-run agency, The PRactice
- Webinars, professional development events, scholarships, and dozens of other free resources
- Annual travel opportunities for conferences and networking trips
- Much, much more!
When I joined PRSSA my freshman year, I had no idea what I wanted my career path to look like—or what it even could look like. PRSSA helped change that. I helped plan our 2025 District Conference, served as member relations director and vice president of programming, and represented the chapter at conferences in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Charlotte, and New Orleans. Now, as president, I can confidently say PRSSA has been a defining part of my Ohio State and communications journey, helping me build a network, gain professional experience, and become immersed in the industry. And whether you’re at the start of your college career or nearing the end, I am confident PRSSA can do the same for you.
